Akemashite omedetō! Happy New Year, friends!
Our tradition is to open the taproom on New Year’s Day. We serve otoso, our version of Japanese spiced sake, as the first drink of the New Year in hopes that it will bring good luck and health. There will also be new/special sake on tap, which will pair wonderfully with food!
Welcoming back: Damgeuda Korean comfort food! They will have their Jjajangmyeon black bean noodles and a GF rice bowl; chances are good they’ll have other tasty foods, too!
New Year’s Day sake menu:
In A Strange Land: filtered. complex.
Mountains on the Moon: unfiltered. fruity. sweet.
Needs of the Many: filtered. rich. cherry & clove notes. warm or cold.
Time Warp: filtered. blended vintages. complex with some age character and some zippy freshness.
Door into Summer: flavored. sake with mango. (note: this may be replaced with another fruit-flavored sake.)
Moku: oaked sake. filtered sake aged on Treehouse shochu-soaked oak.
Multipass: ginjo sake. made with goyakumongoku rice. aroma forward. banana and melon notes.
Otoso: our take on New Year’s spiced sake. this should be your first drink of the New Year.
So Say We All: sparkling sake. lightly sweet, crystal-clear sake with bubbles.
Sun Jammer: flavored, sparkling sake. sake with fresh yuzu juice and yuzu peel.
